The Burlington's Lines West Depots |
| This book contains 145 pages covering the railroad's depots in the states of Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, South Dakota, and Kansas, plus depots on the Colorado & Southern R.R. in Colorado and Wyoming. It has 131 black and white photographs and old color postcard photos of several depots. There are some engineering department prints of depots and an 1895 public timetable section of all the branch lines in these states. There are many photos of disasters at depots including fires, floods, and storms, plus some very unusual depots. Many of the photos are from the files of well-known Burlington historians James Ehernberger and Alfred Holck, and the Bill Rapp collection. This a great book!

| The Burlington's Peavine Branch |
| This 50-page book presents an interesting look at this branch line that was built as a narrow gauge railroad from Fort Madison, Iowa, to Ottumwa, Iowa. It was changed to standard gauge shortly before the turn of the century and was taken into the folds of the Burlington in 1900. After receiving ownership, the Burlington abandoned the portion from Batavia to Ottumwa and made a connection to the main line at Batavia. This book contains some interesting newspaper articles from its early years, and several great photos. It also includes an 1896 operating department timetable when it was the Chicago Fort Madison & Des Moines R.R. This is a very interesting history of an Iowa branch line. Very reasonably priced.
