Lightning Slingers and Brass Pounders - A History of the Railroad Telegrapher |
| A well-documented history of the importance of the telegraph operator in the building and operation of our nation's railroads. This book tells their story in detail of the early years of telegraph history as related by my father and many retired telegraphers who gave me the stories and information over 50 years ago. It is documented with a variety of 80 depot photos including depots on fire, surrounded by floodwaters, and destroyed by train derailments. It is well-illustrated with many old express and telegraph documents, excursion posters, and train orders. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only completely illustrated history of the railroad telegrapher. The book contains 112 pages with an illustrated gold cover.

| Serving America Coast to Coast - A History of the Express |
| This is the first complete history of the express published in nearly 75 years. It covers 180 separate companies. I spent hundreds of hours researching the material in this book during the past five years. It contains over 130 illustrations of old letters, shipping labels, wanted posters, bills of lading, stamps, and ornate documents dating back to the 1850's. There is a beautiful color advertisement of the United States Express Company copied from the back of an 1899 Rock Island R.R. timetable. This book goes into detail about many of the early express pioneers. A great book!
