Now ALF—or "Gordon Shumway", as his old buddies like me know him— has talked the folks over at the TV Land cable network into bankrolling his talk show concept. Gordo's been talking about hosting a talk show ever since ALF went off the air in 1990, and I'm glad to see that my old buddy has finally pulled it off. The pilot aired in July, and featured Ed McMahon as his sidekick, with Drew Carey and Dennis Franz as guests. It went over so well that TV Land has committed to six more episodes. ALF's Hit Talk Show (can you tell he named it himself?) will begin airing Fridays at 11PM EST, starting November 5th. Congrats to my old buddy ALF on his continued success! With six episodes to film, I'm sure I'll get a call to guest real soon now. Did I mention that ALF is an old buddy of mine? (Are you listening, old buddy? Remember those "home movies" I have in my vault? You and two "ladies"? Hint. Hint.)
