Ed The Sock

He's angry, he's horny, he's smokin', and he's probably drunk right now. Who? My old pal Ed The Sock, of course. Ed's had his own late-night talk show up in Canada for several years now, and he regulary beats out Leno and Letterman in that time slot. But he had to go to Canada to do it. Think the US networks would touch a talk show hosted by a puppet? When you-know-where freezes over. Even my old buddy Alf had to get down on his knees and beg a low-level cable network (TVLand, for Pete's sake!) to host just a half-dozen episodes of his talk show here in the States. And he already had a proven prime-time track record on a major network! I'm glad Ed's making some noise up in Canada, but you can bet your sweet patootie that you'll never see him on late night TV here in the Lower 48. You can still check out his web site, though, and he's got some spine-tingling video clips online. Wowsers!
